fish measuring process

The Edward Fishing Challenge is a total catch and release competition. All fish are to be returned to the river after measurement and photograph at the place of capture.

A measuring brag mat will be supplied to each angler.

Place the fish on the brag mat with the nose of the fish on the Zero mark.

Place your designated registration card in the allocated area on the brag mat.

Take a photo on your phone of the whole fish and your registration card and save it as proof of catch.

The photo must be clear and legible so the marshal can accurately determine the species and length of fish to the nearest half centimetre.

Release the fish back to the water in the area of capture

At the end of each fishing time, bring your phone and registration card to the marshalling area located at the H.Q .

Upon verification, The marshal will fill out a fish capture card for each fish you have caught for the day and enter them into the draw

Proof of the time the photograph was taken on the phone must be clear to the marshal.

No Carp, Redfin, Trout cod or under size fish will be measured by the marshals.

NOTE: All fish photos must be presented to the marshals between the hours of 4pm and 7pm on Saturday 8 Feb and 10am till 12:30pm Sunday 9 Feb

In the event of multiple fish being the same size, the time of capture will determine the winner by being the earliest caught will be determined the winner of the section.

The head marshal’s decision is final and the head marshal has the right to refuse entry and disqualify a competitor if deemed to be cheating in any way. This includes, modifying or editing photographs, duplicating a photograph, presenting another competitors photograph or using a non-designated measuring device.
